Webinar Description: Wastewater surveillance is an innovative technique to monitor a range of population health measures, from drug use to polio virus to chronic disease prevalence. The latest application is to sample and test wastewater for the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Since wastewater is an aggregated, population-level data stream, it provides a cost-effective way to determine viral loads in the entire community connected to the sewer system, and in a manner that protects privacy. This webinar is designed to educate you on the potential applications of this technique to DoD military bases and installations and also other applications such as monitoring wastewater from ships.

Learning Objectives (4):
1.  Overview of wastewater surveillance and how can it be an effective indication of community health
2. How can this technique be used for COIVD-19 surveillance
3. Applications to the DoD, for COVID-19 and other uses
4. Overview of the sample collection and analysis for COVID-19
